Wall Decals

Ever thought of bringing life to your boring walls? Some of the ideas which pris and myself can think of are

1.) Hang a nice painting on the wall.
2.) Hang your favourite pictures on the wall
3.) Hang trophy ( A speciment or part, such as a lion's head, preserved as a token of a successfuly hunt) on the wall.
4.) Stick on wall decal to create a different mood for each season.
5.) Consider painting strips of color on the wall.
6.) Use curtains as wall cover up.
7.) Create moods for your room using wallpaper. Some of the more popular ones include Goodrich wallpaper.
8.) Hang a large mirror to create "visual" space.

How to Make a CD Disco Ball

I'm thinking of putting up a few disco ball at Fernvale to create a more realistic Retro look, found some articles off the eHow-to web. This might be useful for those if you have a tight budget to buy it off-the-shelf.

Things You’ll Need:
Large Styrofoam Balls With Hanger
Colored Light Bulbs
Flood Lighting
Glue Guns
Hot Glue Sticks
Cutting Boards
Scissors
X-Acto Knives
Straightedges Ruler
thin, strong ropes

Step-by-Step guide:
1) Cut up old CDs into 1/2-inch or 1-centimeter squares.
2) Glue them to the outside of some kind of ball or spherical object
3) Put a string through the spherical object and hang it from the rafters.
4) Shine lights (ideally multicolored) onto the ball.
5) Bingo! Disco ball.

Rice Cooker

Pris just moved in to her new Rivervale home yesterday. I guess she must be really tired now after the moving. This is the Philips rice cooker which I get for pris's new home. It's look pinky and I think it should suit her..*wahaha* But I haven't got the chance to pass it to her yet and I'm really tempted to open up and use it..:P Go to Philips website and check out more on this product!

Pris's New place@Rivervale

Yippee! I went to pris's new house today! It's not too far from fernvale and I like the surrounding there. It was quiet and easily accessible to Sengkang east road (one of the main road in sengkang which can get you house fast in the morning when the traffic is bad). When we were there at her door step, I was worried that we knocked on the wrong door! Haha.. Coz you know when you got a new place, chances are that you won't remember the address correctly.

Lucky! She's not sotong this time and we were there after a short walk from the multiple storeys carpark. Once we are there, the first thing that I do is to visit their toilet..(Haha..Sorry nature calls!... ) I like the bathroom sliding doors, they got this lovely white flower prints on it.

Ahh...Finally I was in her living/family room, the place looks bright. Plenty of sunlight shining in except that it was a little warm then. A stand fan should do the work and make the place more cooling. After all this is on the 6th level, it should be windy when all the windows are open. The previous owner really maintained the house well! False ceilings are found in all the rooms complete with beige paint.

I really like her master bedroom, it's big so does the toilet. However I saw some built-in cabinets in the toilet, i think that can be removed and replaced with those more stylish ones from IKEA.

There are 2 common bedrooms; big enough for a "Entertainment" room where you can put a KTV set and invites some friends over to chill out! Not much reno works required on these two rooms perhaps just to repaint them. To create an entertainment room, we can fit one of the rooms with those cool grey/black wallpaper to make the place looks retro!

Living/Family room : The old sofa left the previous owner looks kinda of old. I would suggest to throw it away and get a light color sofa so as to make the place looks more classy. Add a black coffee table (glossy type) and a white glossy TV console would make the place looks even better. For the curtains, we can use either a blood/dark red, silver colored ones or a high quality white ones.

Kitchen : The kitchen looks rather dark, an extra light should do the trick. Likewise the not much work require here. Perhaps to make the place looks even brighter, she can replace the doors for those cabinents. Change to those glossy types one too.;Like the red ones from IKEA :)

Dining Area: Unless we can get matching furnitures, otherwise the mirror looks kinda weird. No worries, things are never nice until you complete the whole reno! (Except for a orange toilet though)
